Taylor Henninger trained in top music programs like the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and University of Maryland School of Music, and has performed in numerous solo and collaborative recitals.

Taylor has over 10 years of teaching experience with students of all ages and abilities. His students have received international and local awards, and he works with each student on an individual basis to help foster a passion for music.

About

Taylor Henninger is a dedicated pianist and teacher based in the Washington, D.C. area. He maintains an active presence as a soloist and collaborative pianist in addition to his busy teaching schedule. He attended the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music for undergraduate studies and the University of Maryland for Masters. His primary teachers have been Jean-Louis Haguenauer, Yong-Hi Moon, and Bradford Gowen.

Taylor has also participated in summer festivals such as the Texas Music Festival (Houston, TX), Brevard Music Center (North Carolina), Gijon International Piano Festival (Spain), and the Summer Music Academy at La Ferme de Villefavard (France). He has also had private lessons or masterclasses with Jon Kimura Parker, Richard Goode, Nancy Weems, John Perry, and Robert McDonald.

Taylor has over a decade of teaching experience, and his students have been prizewinners in various competitions and festivals at the international, national, and state/local level. He has taught at several institutions such as The International School of Music in Bethesda, MD, and the Mason Community Arts Academy at George Mason University in Virginia. He is a member of MTNA and a Steinway Educational Partner.

As a teacher, Taylor aspires to help students realize their unique potential and achieve their individual musical goals. He enjoys working with students of all ages and ability levels (including K-12 and adult students), and runs a private studio in Northern Virginia. He hopes making music can be a positive and uplifting experience, and encourages students to participate in performances and events.
